My Thoughts On Edwards, “No Comment”

August 12, 2008 · 5 Comments

…shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen.

Right… that quote is from ‘99… from John Edwards… think he wants that one back now?  When will cats learn the power of, “no comment”?    (more…)

Wide World of Sports

August 11, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’ve been watching a lot more of the Olympics than I thought I would.  I forgot how good this stuff can be… sports for the sake of sports.  The pressure of competing on a stage that comes once every four years.  Think about that… if you choke, get injured, have a brief mental lapse, you don’t compete in this setting again for FOUR years.  Sure there are other international contests but they aren’t the Olympics.  Most people probably underestimate the dedication, focus and skill required to perform at your absolute best under these conditions… if you have been an athlete, at any level, you have a tiny idea.   (more…)

“It shall be known that in 2008 the world will be blessed. They will call him ‘The One,’” says the announcer in the minute-long video, over images of light shining from the heavens and a gospel music-like soundtrack, interspersed with clips drawn from Obama speeches.

“And he has anointed himself. Ready to carry the burden of The One,” continues the announcer. “He can do no wrong. Can you see the light?”

Dialogue from the most recent John McCain ad… is he really trying to win?

How To Make Dumb, Dumber

August 2, 2008 · 4 Comments

The sag thing didn’t really phase me in the beginning.  You noticed it but kept it moving… like when you see a crazy guy talking to himself.  Even when they pushed the line further down showing full ass and walking like they had an affliction, I just shook my head in disgust.  But this new thing is even more, dare I say it, ass-backwards.  How do you sag tight pants?    (more…)
